Just a quick update on the work I shall have up at Cedar farm i mentioned in the earlier post. As soon as the date of hanging has been confirmed I shall update the news feed here and let you know when it’s rolling.
I’ve always dealt with printing my photographic images myself in the past, using either my own printer or through people I know with good machines for the job. For the show at Cedar and for some other venues I decided to hand the job over to the professionals. I decided to try C-Type printing as an alternative to Giclée which I have used in the past and I must say the quality of this format is stunning.
I’ll try and get some decent shots of the prints to put up on the site, though they probably wont do them justice. Highly recommend giving C-Type a try yourself if you’re after something with a little more pop than the usual methods.
More updates soon
Thought I should do the honorable thing and make some effort to post some news.. months drift by and I don’t seem to get round to it.
Got a lot going on at the moment including a site dedicated to my photography. I set up iamunknown.com to showcase my work by covering all aspects of what I am up to creatively and the photography side of work has evolved into something far more than the shots I have on the site. So I’m currently developing a new site just for my photography projects, I can use the new site to push my work forward and have an outlet other than Behance or other sites for my images.
Speaking of images, I have just ordered a selection of new limited prints for a group show starting at Cedar Farm (http://www.cedarfarm.net/) starting on Monday 28th(ish) of this month. See the site for venue details.
I’m polishing off a new piece of artwork for the next release from Calaca Strides at the moment amongst other things… I shall endeavor to update the site content very soon.
Bear with me
Neil
So then, it’s been an odd sort of start to the year. Some projects are starting to gain some ground and I will be launching another site at some point in the not too distant future, if I can find some precious time.
I will be collaborating with some great artists over the next month or so working toward some new sites along with some new photography.
I’ve some more developments I would like to include in the freshly launched OK Studios website (http://www.okstudios.org/). I’m really happy with how it’s turned out and am looking forward to adding a little extra functionality to it in the future.
I’ve a few tweaks I would like to make to iamunknown.com at some point soon as well… they’re on the list of things to do.
Till then, take care and pop back soon, I’ll try and have something exciting to show you by the time you do.
Neil
Been really busy finalising the new www.okstudios.org website which is now live.
More news soon…
:)
Hello Hello!
I’ve just finished off some design for the extremely talented Calaca Strides (http://www.calacastrides.com/), He’s just finished off his first recording in the form of the EP “Quiet Haunt” which is well worth a listen and download through his site. I’ve been lucky enough to work on the EP cover along with the first music video which have both been added to the Music design section of iamunknown.com. I’m really happy with the way both turned out, moving image is something I’ve been hankering to experiment with for some time and now I’ve had a taster I’m hoping to work out what my D7000 can do for me in the form of video… watch this space.
I’ve a few more projects bubbling away at the moment in the form of web and some other odds and ends as well which with any luck will be up and running and on the site by the end of the year.
I’m looking to pick up the paintbrushes at the start of 2012 and do some more of the rust experiments I started a year or so ago to see where that takes me.
Exciting times indeed… Keep popping back and I’ll do my best to furnish you with some more creative projects.
Till then, take care
Neil
Some new work’s up on the site. I’ve added the new branding and album artwork I’ve had the pleasure of working on for Kaon Flux, The E.P. can be heard over at Behance click here to hear it in all it’s glory. A great debut for the artist and the label Poison Drum records.
I’ve also added some of the photography work that’s been brewing for the last 18 months - 2 years. I’ve been working a little more with some of my landscape photography and these are the results. Click on the experiments link on the left and let me know what you think. I’m always keen to hear feedback, I’m really happy with how some of these have come out. Be interested to know what you thought.
There’s a tad more work I’ll be adding in the not too distant future with any luck. I’m going to venture back into some of the cultivated rust studies I had started a few years back and see what that produces. Along with some more illustrative work.
I still have prints available on Society6.com click here to view the current selection.
More soon
Neil :)
Thought it about time for an update on things. I’ve been busy for the last few months as always seems to be the case. Some projects I’ve been working on have been taking longer than I had perceived due to various issues beyond my control. Life seems to be getting in the way for me to work on my personal ventures, seems to be the run of things this year with plenty ups and downs that have headed my way.
I’ve a few illustrations in various states of completeness… I sneaked a new illustration onto the site following the balloon flow of some of my past work. This is a style I’ve been exploring more of late with my personal work. I’m planning getting stuck into some painting again before the year is out.
I’ve a couple of sites that are close to completion and are just awaiting some content and I’m finalising some new branding and album artwork for a fresh new digital act, I shall post this work up as soon as it’s been completed and I’ve had the approval to release it to the world.
I’ve a stack of new photography I’ve been working on too, This is on my flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/8121558@N04/) stream but yet to be added to the site. I’ve been experimenting with some of my landscape and other photography over the last few months to develop some strong styles and approaches to my images. Head over and have a looksie.
I’ve teamed up with my close friend Rick Dickinson again to work on a new photographic experimentation project which from the initial testing phases is looking like it’s going to blossom into some really exciting results.
That’s all for now, updates as soon as these sites I’m working on and other projects are finished…
I’ve finally got round to sorting out some prints for sale online. I intended to source some limited runs personally but due to time constraints and other matter at the moment joining a site that specialises in printing fine art prints seemed like the way to go.
I’ve a page on society6 (http://society6.com/neilwarburton) where you can buy a selection of prints… I will be adding to this some time in the not too distant future, I have a selection of unfinished illustrations that I intend to use as prints.
Thanks for all the great feedback and to all that have taken an interest in the site and my work over the last few months, it’s been rather humbling… some of my work has appeared on some of my favorite surfing sites of late… exciting times indeed.
Cheers
Neil
Due to some unforeseen circumstances I have yet to finalise the print work for sale on the site. I have had a few emails from people enquiring as to when prints will be available. Apologies for the delay for those waiting, though I have no solid date yet I do have a list of people and will contact you when I have more information.
I’ve two new website designs under way for an artistic duo and a photographer, these will be on the site as soon as they are finished and ready for your viewing pleasure. I’ve been expanding some of my code tinkering and learning a few new things to give them a little something different.
I shall update the site soon, there just isn’t enough time in the day to get everything done sometimes… Please bear with me.
Neil
